✝️ Today

The Church observes a sacred fast today. There is no Mass until the Easter Vigil tonight.

📖 The Word Today

No Gospel is being read at morning prayer today. Just silence. The tomb is sealed. The disciples are scattered and terrified. Mary Magdalene is weeping somewhere. Peter is hiding. John is with Our Lady. And Jesus, the Word made flesh, is silent in the tomb.

🙏 Reflection

This is the longest day of the year.

Yesterday He died. Tomorrow, He rises. But today, nothing. Just the sealed stone in front of the tomb and the silence and the longest Saturday in human history.

The disciples didn't know about tomorrow. They just knew about yesterday. They had watched Him die. They had seen the stone rolled across the entrance. And now they sat in their locked room with their grief and their confusion and their shattered expectations, wondering what in the world had just happened to everything they had given their lives to.

We know how the story ends. Holy Saturday asks us to sit, just for one day, in that not-yet space. The space between the cross and the resurrection. The space between the promise and the fulfillment. The space that, if we are honest, is where most of our faith actually lives most of the time.

We believe, while we are still waiting. We trust, even though we cannot yet see. We hold onto the promise of Easter while living in a world that still has locked rooms and sealed tombs and scattered disciples.

That is Holy Saturday. And it is holy. Because God is doing something in the silence that no one can see yet. Wait. He is worth waiting for.

🌟 HOLY WEEK CHALLENGE - The Great Silence

Today's challenge is the hardest one of the week for most people, especially those of us who fill every quiet moment with noise.

From the time you wake up until you arrive at the Easter Vigil tonight, or until you go to sleep if you are not attending Vigil, keep as much silence as you reasonably can. No unnecessary scrolling. No background TV. No podcast filling the drive. Let the silence of Holy Saturday be actual silence.

In that silence, sit and pray. Think about what this week has cost you and what it has given you. Look at that folded paper from Monday. Are you ready to pour it out tonight?

📿 Rosary - The Sorrowful Mysteries - Final Time This Lent

Focus: The Death of Jesus on the Cross

This is the last time we pray the Sorrowful Mysteries every day, until next Lent. Pray these mysteries today with the full weight of everything this season has meant. Every bead carries forty days of your journey. Pray them slowly. Pray them gratefully. And tonight, at the Easter Vigil, everything changes.

🌹 Our Lady of Fatima

Where was Our Lady on Holy Saturday? Scripture doesn't tell us. Tradition says she never lost faith, that in the entire locked-room Saturday of that first Holy Week, she alone held the light of belief burning. She knew. She had pondered all these things in her heart since the Annunciation. She knew the story wasn't over. Be with her today in that quiet, faithful, unshakeable waiting. She is the model of Holy Saturday. She always was.

🕊️
Closing Prayer

Lord Jesus, the tomb is sealed, and I am waiting. I believe even in the silence. I trust even in the dark. I know the stone will move. Come, Lord Jesus. We are ready. Amen.
