Don't Follow Judas:
Stay Until The Final Blessing
At the very first Mass - the Last Supper - one person couldn't wait until the end. Jesus, knowing what was in Judas's heart, told him, "What you are going to do, do quickly." Judas got up and left before Jesus finished sharing His Body and Blood, before the prayers were complete, before receiving the fullness of what Jesus Christ wanted to give. Jesus didn't stop him - He let him go into the darkness to do what he had already chosen. That hurried exit led him straight into the greatest betrayal in history! Every time someone leaves Mass early, they're choosing the "do quickly" path of Judas, missing out on the complete gift Jesus wants to pour into their hearts. Don't be that person!
Here's the incredible truth: every single second of Mass is packed with supernatural power, but the final blessing? That's when Jesus sends you out as His warrior, His ambassador, His beloved child, armed with grace for the week ahead! When you bolt after Communion, you're literally walking away from Jesus saying, "Go in peace to love and serve the Lord." and the priest calling down heaven's protection upon you. You're missing the spiritual ammunition you desperately need for Monday morning!
Think about it - Jesus told Judas to "do quickly" what he was going to do, and Judas chose the path of haste over the path of blessing. The other apostles? They stayed. They received everything Jesus had to give them that night, and they went on to turn the world upside down! When you stay until "Thanks be to God," you're choosing to be like Peter, John, and James rather than like the one who chose urgency over grace. You're declaring that this moment, this blessing, this commissioning matters more than whatever you're rushing toward.
Mass is your weekly powerhouse moment with God - every prayer, every response, every blessing building up to send you out as Jesus Christ's champion! From the opening sign of the cross to that final dismissal, Jesus is loading you up with everything you need to conquer the week ahead. The concluding blessing isn't just a nice way to wrap things up - it's God placing His seal of protection and power over your life! When you rush out after Communion, you're leaving supernatural strength on the table. You're walking away from grace that could transform your Monday, your relationships, your entire week!
So here's your challenge: Don't be the one who chooses "do quickly" over "do completely"! Be the one who stays! Be the one who receives every drop of grace offered! Let the final blessing wash over you like spiritual rocket fuel, and then - only then - go out and set the world on fire with the love of Jesus. Don't be a Judas who rushes out and misses the point entirely. Be the faithful disciple who stays until the very end and experiences the full power of what God wants to give you!
